FuelShift Privacy Policy

    FuelShift is designed with privacy as a default. All your fuel and vehicle data is stored on your device and is
    never uploaded to our servers.
  

1. Information we collect

FuelShift collects only the information you directly provide:

Fuel fill-up entries (date, litres, price, odometer reading, location label)
Vehicle details (name, type, fuel type)
Maintenance records and reminders
Monthly budget settings
App preferences (currency, distance unit, dark mode)

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.

2. How your data is stored

All data is stored locally on your device using SQLite (via the sqflite package). Data is not transmitted to any server operated by FuelShift. If you use iCloud Backup, your device backup (including app data) is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

3. Receipt scanning (OCR)

When you scan a fuel receipt, the image is processed on-device using Apple's Vision framework. The image and extracted text are not sent to any external server. The extracted data is stored locally only if you choose to save the entry.

4. Location data

FuelShift may request location access to tag a fill-up entry with a nearby station name. Location data is used only at the moment of tagging and is stored as a plain text label on your device. We do not track your location continuously or share it with any third party.

5. Subscriptions and payments

FuelShift Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your subscription state — not your personal or payment details. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

6. Analytics and crash reporting

FuelShift does not use any third-party analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel). We do not collect usage statistics, session data, or crash logs beyond what Apple provides to developers through App Store Connect (aggregated, anonymised crash reports only).

7. Notifications

If you enable fuel reminders, local notifications are scheduled entirely on-device. Notification data is not transmitted to any server.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party, advertiser, or data broker.

9. Children's privacy

FuelShift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Data deletion

All app data is deleted when you uninstall FuelShift from your device. You can also delete individual entries or all data from within the app via Settings → Delete All Data. Since we hold no server-side data, there is nothing further to request deletion of from us.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app.
